How Do I Start a Walking or Gait Session in the App?

If you're having trouble starting your gait protocol in the Cionic app, follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify Device Connection:
  • Navigate to the Home Screen. Open the Cionic app and ensure you are on the home screen.
  • Check the Control Unit Icon. Look for the "Control Unit" icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap it.
  • Confirm Connection. Verify that your Neural Sleeve is listed at the top of the options with a battery level and a clear indication that it is "connected."
    • If it is not connected, follow the app's instructions to pair and connect your device.
  • Return to the Home Screen. Once you have confirmed the connection, return to the app's home screen.
  1. Initiate the Gait Protocol:
  • Select the "Gait" Protocol. On the home screen, tap on the "Gait" protocol option.
  • Choose "Start" or "Reconfigure".
    • If you have already calibrated your sleeve since putting it on and do not want to change your settings, press "Start."
    • If you have just put the sleeve on for the day, the "Reconfigure" option will not be available. Press "Start."
  1. Complete Calibration (If Necessary):
  • Follow Calibration Prompts. The app will guide you through the calibration process. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
  • Activate Each Electrode Group. During calibration, you will need to activate each set of electrodes.
    • Press the "lightning bolt" button to deliver stimulation to each electrode group.
    • After stimulating each group, the "Next" button will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap it to proceed.
    • Repeat this process for all electrode groups.
  1. Confirm Gait Protocol Activation:
  • Check for Skeleton Display. After completing the calibration process for all electrode groups, a screen with a skeleton graphic will appear.
  • Begin Walking. The skeleton display indicates that you are now in the "Gait" protocol and are ready to begin walking.

  • Restart the App: If you encounter any errors or the app freezes, try closing and reopening the Cionic app.
  • Restart the Neural Sleeve: If the connection is unstable, try turning off and on your Neural Sleeve Control Unit.
